Tonhalle Wil, a prominent cultural hub in Switzerland, has completed a multi-phase modernization of its venue lighting infrastructure across 2025 and 2026. Designed to meet the highest standards of modern theatrical performance, live music and corporate events, the project — designed, engineered and installed by Pro Rent GmbH — relies entirely on PROLIGHTS technology to deliver exceptional optical clarity and colour consistency.
The Challenge: Architectural Integration & Colour Uniformity
The primary technical challenge for the Pro Rent GmbH engineering team was upgrading a venue with strict acoustic and architectural requirements while ensuring absolute colour matching across different fixture types. Operating across a multi-year project scope (2025–2026), the venue required high-output profile fixtures and smooth fresnels that could share the exact same colour engine, eliminating chromatic discrepancies between key lights, side fills and framing positions.
The Solution and Performance
Pro Rent GmbH integrated a powerful suite of PROLIGHTS fixtures: 12x Astra Profile 500 LTIP for long-throw precise framing, 16x ECL Fresnel CT+M for soft-edged wash coverage and 8x ECL Profile CT+HP for high-output key lighting. The team decided to switch to the Astra Profile 500 LTIP, mainly due to its distinct advantages in the CTO range. The synergy between the ECL profile and fresnel series provided flawless colour mixing across the entire visual spectrum.
